DANCING IS A MOVING MEDITATION

So you think you’re too ‘old’ to dance!!  I invite you to watch this video, of an 87yr old Grandma dancing the Salsa. I mean really, really dancing.

No matter how old you are, you can dance. Whether you’ve danced before or never danced. Take lessons, join a health club and take Zumba Gold Fitness Classes. Sign up for dance class, any type of dance class: line dancing, latin, ballroom, tango, belly. Just keep your body moving, keep your joints moving and you’ll reduce the aches and pains associated with aging. As we age, our bodies hurt when we don’t exercise.

Music is healing. Music is meditation. Dancing is healing. Dancing is meditation. You can’t dance and think of being afraid . You can’t dance and continue to worry. You can’t dance and be angry. Dancing temporarily clears your mind of everything but the music and the dance steps. After an hour of dancing, whatever upset you when you came into the class, has now lost its charge. It doesn’t seem to bother you as much as it did before you began your dance class. Dancing takes the edge off  your emotions and has a calming effect. Dancing distracts you from the news, from the newspapers, from the sadness, from the world.
